What is urgent care?
An Urgent Care is a step down from an Emergency where we manage minor medical Emergencies. Many medical issues that your primary care doctor may refer you to the ER can be managed at an urgent care. We have on-site Xray and EKG, we also do rapid labs testing with results while you wait. Our management of your medical issue is focused on the problem that is facing you today. For any life threatening illness please call (718) 962-2273. Proceed to the nearest Emergency Room.
What information do I need to be seen by a practitioner?
You’ll need a valid photo ID and insurance card (if you’re paying with insurance). At the time of your visit you will complete an easy registration form on a tablet and then be seen by the practitioner.
When should I visit an emergency room instead of NYUC?
You should visit the emergency room for life and limb threatening conditions such as significant chest pain, shortness of breath, passing out and severely broken bones. Do I need a referral or authorization from my primary doctor to visit NYUCC
No. We have an agreement with most of the your insurance companies as an urgent care and do not require a referral or an authorization from you primary care doctor.
